Dorohedoro author talks about the second anime season

Everyone was surprised when at the beginning of the week it was announced that 4 years after the first season, a continuation of the anime series adaptation of the manga is in production. Dorohedoro began to be released in 1999 and the story takes place in a city so dark that it is known only as “the hole”. A clan of sorcerers kidnaps people to use them as guinea pigs in atrocious “experiments” in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido encounters Caiman, a man with a reptilian head and a severe case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they are hunting down and killing the town’s sorcerers, hoping that they will eventually kill the right one. But when En, the chief sorcerer, learns that a lizardman is preying on his people, he sends a “clean-up” team into the “hole”, thus giving rise to a war between two worlds.

Dorohedoro began to be published in Shogakukan’s Monthly Ikki, later passing after the end of the magazine to Hibana in 2015. Later Hibana also ended and the manga moved to Monthly Shōnen Sunday in November 2017, with the work ending in September 2017. 2018.

A Viz Media began digitally distributing the manga by Dorohedoro in 2009 when he launched the SigIKKIthe digital English version of Monthly Ikki from Shogakukan. He later began publishing the manga physically in 2010.

The manga Dorohedoro was part of list of mangas with so much Gore which would probably never be adapted into an anime.
