It just dethroned Home Alone and is already the most watched film on Disney+

This was one of the most anticipated films to arrive on Disney +, and it is already proving to be one of the Portuguese’s favorites, dethroning this Christmas classic.

With the arrival of Christmas, those films that are classics of the time also arrive, such as “Home Alone”. This film was directed by Chris Columbus, who would later direct another Christmas classic “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” like “Percy Jackson and the Thieves of Olympus”. In this film we follow the adventures of a large family who go traveling during Christmas and end up forgetting one of the youngest members of the family, Kevin (Macaulay Culkin). But there is a small problem, a duo of thieves plan to rob the house thinking that the house was empty.

In addition to Culkin, who already has his name in Walk of Famethe cast also features Joe PesciDaniel Stern, John Heard, Catherine O’HaraRobert Blossoms, Kieran Culkinbetween others.

Regarding the film that managed to dethrone “Home Alone”, it was “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”. The last chapter of the saga starring Harrison Ford.

The film arrived on the streaming platform on December 15th after its run in cinemas, where it grossed more than 380 million dollars at the global box office.

This chapter was written by James Mangold (“Logan”, “Le Mans ’66: The Duel”) with an argument from Jez Butterworth (“On the Edge of Tomorrow”), John-Henry Butterworth (“Nine Unknowns”), David Koepp (“Morecai”) and Mangold, based on characters created by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman. Lucas and Steven Spielberg (“The Fabelmans”) were one of the executive producers of this film, as happened in the previous films in the saga. John Williams also marked his return to this saga as the composer of the film’s soundtrack.

“Indiana Jones and the Marker of Destiny” places the iconic archaeologist in search of an artifact that is capable of altering humanity’s past. Harrison Ford is returning to one of his most iconic characters for the last time, but he also has the help of Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”, “Solo: A Star Wars Story”), Antonio Banderas (“Official Competition”, “Uncharted”“Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”), John Rhys-Davies (trilogy “Lord of the Rings”), Toby Jones (“Captain America: The First Avenger” “What If…?”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal”, “Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”, “Doctor Strange”).

With the release of the film it also brought with it a documentary directed by the renowned Laurent Bouzereau called “Timeless Heroes”. This documentary explores Harrison Ford’s career as an actor, his entry into this saga and the impact these films had on the film industry. In addition to focusing on Ford, they also explored the moment in which George Lucas and Steven Spielberg came together to create this saga, featuring never-before-seen images and interviews with the main elements of the saga.
