HBO Max has prepared a month of February in which Portuguese cinema will be in the spotlight with these eight premieres.
In February, HBO Max will continue to offer a catalog in first line and for lovers of seventh Artit will be a month full of premieres spoken in the language of Camões that will keep company with the sensational Portuguese film “The Sibyl”which has stood out in the top of national preferences.
Which of these will be able to dethrone “The Sibila”, by Eduardo Brito, and become the most watched Portuguese film on HBO Max?
INDIA, IN TELMO CHURRO
Tiago, Raul and Manuel (Pedro Inês, José Manuel Mendes and João Carvalho, respectively) represent three generations of the same family. In this story, their lives are linked to that of Karen (Denise Fraga), a Brazilian tourist who is touring Lisbon and to whom Tiago will serve as a guide.

Amélia gets a job in a modern tavern and has the misfortune, or luck, of her boss hearing her sing. In the middle of this adventure of dishes and singing, two boys fall in love with Amélia: Ruben, a promising football player, and Rogério, better known as Bubu, a pitchfork from Santarém and son of good families. To complicate things even more, Amélia cannot forget her ex-boyfriend – who, in the meantime, is preparing to marry someone else – while at night in Lisbon she constantly bumps into someone who writes words of love on the city’s walls.

Inspired by the legend of Pedro and Inês, the film tells the story of Pedro (Diogo Amaral), a man admitted to a psychiatric hospital for traveling by car with the corpse of his beloved Inês, who simultaneously recalls the lives of Pedro de Portugal in the Middle Ages, Pedro Bravo in the present and Pedro Rey in a dystopian future.

John (Diogo Morgado) is a successful writer, openly homosexual, who is going through a huge creative crisis. In fact, he doesn’t even remember that he’s gay. And to everyone who tries to remind him of his sexual orientation, he responds with complete denial. João starts to admit himself as a confirmed bachelor, a lover of the good life, and begins to get involved with women. One of them will be Isabel, João’s rival writer. Isabel will not let go of the opportunity to use all her trump cards to gain an advantage and get ahead of João… Will João be able to regain inspiration and finish the book? What if the only way to end him is with the help of the family and love he left behind?

Quim (João Paulo Rodrigues) and Zé (Pedro Alves) go to pick up two cousins far away from Lisbon, who want to relive the crazy summer of two years ago in Curral de Moinas, but they fatally run into a herd of sheep. When they arrive in Heaven, God offers them a second opportunity to return to Curral de Moinas. They will have to prove to him that they will give up an amoral and libertine life, renouncing the seven deadly sins: lust, gluttony, anger, envy, avarice, pride and laziness. This in itself would be an almost impossible challenge, but, to make everything more exciting, every time Quim and Zé falter in the face of sin, they are called “up there” or God comes “down here”. Can Quim and Zé resist the avalanche of temptations offered to them?
