Electronics and liquids don’t mix very well. In fact, it can lead to expensive repairs that no one wants. The worst thing of all is that in some cases, even if we have spilled a very small amount, the liquid can get inside a laptop without anyone noticing. This is what will happen if you spill a drink on your laptop!

Keyboard problems
Liquid damage can be sneaky. They often manifest themselves as keyboard failure. Thanks to the liquids, weeks and weeks of moisture settle on the laptop, and suddenly the keyboard doesn’t respond to commands.
Touchpad malfunction
Moisture caused by spilling a liquid into the touchpad typically reduces responsiveness. Water damage to the motherboard can also cause the touchpad to stop working or work randomly. While there may be other causes for a bad touchpad, if your device has been near water, this is probably the reason.
If the speakers make muffled sounds, the liquid may have damaged your device. In fact, moisture can cause corrosion and rust on the internal components of the speakers, leading to poor sound quality. Rust occurs when water sits in the speakers for a long time. Furthermore, the membrane of portable speakers is made of paper which is easily damaged by liquid.
Network issues
If your device starts experiencing network problems or receiving network connection error messages, it is possible that moisture from spilled liquid has completely damaged the hardware. In fact, it can damage the Wi-Fi module, a small chip on the motherboard responsible for your PC’s wireless network connections. Furthermore, it is usually at one end. This makes it susceptible to water damage.
A distorted screen can be a symptom of several problems, one of them being humidity. It can damage a laptop’s display and graphics card.
However, there are two mistakes you need to avoid!
Heat from a hairdryer may seem like a good idea, as the 24-hour waiting period when water gets into the computer or has moisture in it seems too long. But the intense heat is strong enough to damage your laptop’s components.
In fact doing this can cause more damage. Might as well put it under a fan.
Furthermore, the rice myth is another thing to avoid. Placing your laptop on rice doesn’t work and it’s also small enough to get into your laptop’s ports and cause ventilation problems.
