The list of actors who will be part of the cast of the second season of “House of the Dragon” was revealed, and there were some names left out that caused surprise.

The second season of “House of the Dragon” is in preparation and the HBO continues to leave tips and new information to prepare fans for the events that follow that ending.

The prequel series to one of the biggest sagas in the streaming world, “game of Thrones”, the premiere of the next chapter has already been confirmed for the year 2025. Family-focused Targaryenthe series also based on a creation of George R. R. Martin takes place around 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones” in which Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) the last of the family still alive (or so we thought), takes on a very protagonist role.

There was also confirmation that new families will be present in this new season, with emphasis on the return of the Starks in Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), Arya (Maisie Williams), Sansa (Sophie Turner), between others.

The latest news from HBO Max concerns the cast: 16 actors are confirmed to return to their roles in the second season. From this list, however, 3 popular actors were left out, and confirmation of this fact could cause some disappointment among fans.

Confirmed return to “House of the Dragon” will be Matt Smith like Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy like Rhaenyra Targaryen, Eve Best like Rhaenys Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Ewan Mitchell as Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon II Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

Also on the returning list are Harry Collett as Jacaerys “Jace” Velaryon, Bethany Antonia as Baela Targaryen, Phoebe Campbell as Rhaena Targaryen, Phia Saban as Helaena Targaryen, Jefferson Hall as twins Jason Lannister and Tyland Lannister, and Matthew Needham as Larys Strong .

Tom Taylor is one of the new names previously confirmed by HBO for this season, with the role of ancestor of Jon SnowCregan Stark.

Left off the list Graham McTavish like Harrold Westerling. The actor last appeared in the ninth episode of the first season, when (spoilers for the first season) refused to recognize Aegon Targaryen’s accession to the throne. It has not been mentioned since and does not appear to be in the plans for next season.

The biggest names outside the cast list remained, unfortunately but somewhat expectedly, Milly Alcockwho played young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season, and Emily Carey, who played young Alicent Hightower. In this new season there will be no jumps in time, unlike what happened in the first, and therefore, there is no place for the young women’s interpretations despite having been greatly loved by fans in their roles.
