Let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day with the best films and series on Disney+.
Disney + has a huge catalog of films and series for all tastes. But to celebrate this very romantic day, here are some suggestions for you to see with your other half, or even alone.
THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
We start with one of Disney’s great classics, which you can see in either an animated or live-action version, but we suggest the version live-action.
The plot follows the fantastic journey of Belle, an intelligent and independent young man, who is taken prisoner by the Monster in his castle to save her father. Despite her fear of the Monster, Belle becomes friends with the castle’s inhabitants and discovers the Monster’s loving side.
We continue with the great Disney classics, this one also in a live-action version.
In this film we follow the courageous Ella, who despite the mistreatment of her stepmother and stepsisters, decides to take control of her destiny. In the midst of this she meets a young apprentice.
WEST SIDE STORY
This time it’s a theater classic that was turned into a film by the hands of Steven Spielberg that we suggest.
“West Side Story” tells the story of two young people from New York who belong to two different sides of the city’s gang world. The love between the two young lovers is threatened.
The cast includes Rachel ZeglerAnsel Elgort, Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist and Rita Moreno.
This is one of the most memorable films of the beginning of the new millennium. It may not be a romance like other films, however there are different types of love, as you can see with this Disney film.
The plot follows the story of a young girl who, after her father’s death, discovers that she is a princess. From then on, she begins a transformation to become a princess, dealing with the average, envious colleagues and her duties towards her country.
WITH LOVE, SIMON
The community LGBTQIA+ is also represented with “With Love, Simon”.
The plot follows the story of Simon, a 17-year-old boy who has not yet revealed to anyone that he is gay. The problem is that he fell in love with a classmate on the internet and doesn’t know who he is. SImon will have to find out who he fell in love with and also reveal his identity to his family and friends.
If you want something lighter, you can’t miss this great Disney romantic comedy.
“The Proposal” follows an editor who is about to be deported and lose her high-powered job, so that this doesn’t happen, she says she is engaged to her assistant. The two will have to convince an immigration agent and the assistant’s family that the two are in love and are going to get married.
10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU
This film has already become one of the great romance and comedy classics. The plot follows the story of a young man who arrives at his new school and falls in love, the problem is that the girl he fell in love with is prohibited from dating until his older sister does. To do this, he devises a plan to bring his sister together with the school bully.
PRETTY WOMAN – A WOMAN’S DREAM
Another great classic is available on Disney+. “Pretty Woman” is considered a story of Cinderella in modern times, where a woman meets a millionaire and the two make a contract, so that she can pose as his girlfriend. However, what the two didn’t expect was for this romance to become real.
With Richard Gere, Julia RobertsRalph Bellamy, Jason Alexander, Laura San Giacomo and Hector Elizondo.
Now we look at the series that Disney+ has available to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
We start with “Soundtrack #1”, a k-drama 2022 which tells the story of two friends for 19 years who start living together so that one of them can create the lyrics for a romantic song. Will love be born between the two?
With Park Hyung Sik, Han So HeeLee Jung Eun, Kim Ju Hun, Yoon Byung Hee and Park Hoon.
Another suggestion from the world of k-dramas. This series takes place in Seoul during the 1980s, at a time of great tension, where a man invades the dormitory of Seoul’s women’s university. A university student falls in love with this man and helps him to save him and his friends, even against the wishes of some.
PAM AND TOMMY
This will be one of the most adult series on Disney+. Based on real events in the actress’ history Pamela Anderson and her then-boyfriend Tommy Lee.
In this series we follow the events that happen after the sex video between the two was stolen and released.
We also have something for Marvel fans with “WandaVision”, focusing on one of the most suffering couples in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel.
In this series we see Wanda and Vison living an ideal suburban life, however not everything is what it seems and there is a lot of suffering behind this ideal life.
If you liked “With Love, Simon”, you will love this series that takes place in the same universe. This time we follow Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School who embarks on a journey of self-discovery, with problems at home, adapting to a new city and his sexual orientation.
THIS IS US
“This Is Us” was one of the most popular series of recent times and now all six seasons are available on Disney +.
The plot follows the story of the Pearson family over the decades, from the 80s to the present day and how this family has changed.
To finish, we suggest “Tom Jones”, a romantic comedy based on the novel by Henry Fielding.
The plot follows the story of Tom, a man who was abandoned at birth and rescued by a rich knight who becomes very popular with women. However, everything changes when he meets Sophia, a wealthy heiress, and the two fall in love. However, both families are against this relationship and Sophia will do anything for her love, but Tom still doesn’t seem to want to abandon his adventures with other women.
What will you see?
