With the escalation of tension between China and the USA, the two countries are trying to attack each other through certain measures and now this even reaches the iPhone and Samsung smartphones. The US has banned US-based chipmakers from exporting advanced chips and manufacturing technologies to Chinese companies. As a counterattack, the Chinese government banned non-Chinese smartphones from entering its offices.

The Chinese government may have instructed its state-backed agencies and companies to prohibit the use of non-Chinese cell phones by employees
According to a Bloomberg report, more Chinese agencies and state-backed companies have asked their employees to stop taking their iPhonescell phones Samsung Galaxy and non-Chinese smartphones for their workplaces. This measure will drastically reduce sales of iPhones and Samsung cell phones in China, the largest smartphone market in the world. Previously, only a few states enforced this rule, and now eight states, including those in the prosperous coastal region, have banned non-Chinese cell phones from entering their offices. This means that the ban is spreading throughout China.

China has been trying to move away from US-based technologies and products.

The country’s government has injected billions of dollars into the research, development and production of semiconductor technologies. Huawei and other local companies have seen a resurgence in smartphone sales. Apple shares have fallen since news of the ban was revealed. Even the share prices of Apple suppliers, including LG Innotek and Minebea Mitsumi, fell. iPhone sales are expected to decline, which will directly affect Apple’s revenue in the coming months and years. Since Samsung has little market share in China, the company may not be as affected as Apple.

It is expected that this ban will also unofficially affect private companies. This is because smaller businesses in lower-tier cities will have issued their own verbal directives to stop using non-Chinese phones. Although the Chinese government has officially denied banning iPhones and Samsung cell phones in the past, the severity of the ban will vary from one agency to another. Some government agencies may prevent employees from using an iPhone or Samsung cell phone in the workplace, while others may prevent them from using non-Chinese cell phones altogether.
