The life of the eternal Amy Winehouse will hit theaters. “Back to Black” already has a release date set.
With a powerful voice, Amy Winehouse has become one of the best British artists of the 21st century. In fact, her second studio album, “Back to Black“, was the best-selling album in the United Kingdom this century.
Coming from a family with strong ties to Jazz, Amy Winehouse quickly got into music, still in her teens. But with the sudden success came other problems.
The British artist had a problematic relationship with her ex-assistant and ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. Combined with this tumultuous relationship, the artist “entered” a world of addictions, from alcohol to cocaine.
He ended up passing away in 2011, aged 27. Now, 13 years after his death, his life will hit theaters thanks to a biopic starring Marisa Abela.
LIFE ON FILM
Produced by Focus Features, “Back to Black” is the biographical film about life by Amy Winehouse. According to the official synopsis, the film “is a never-before-seen look at Amy Winehouse’s rise to fame and the release of her breakthrough studio album, “Back to Black.” Told from Amy’s perspective, the film is an unapologetic look at the woman behind the phenomenon and the relationship that inspired one of the most legendary albums of all time.”
The film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (“Fifty Shades of Gray“), the argument fell to Matt Greenhalgh. The duo had already worked together in 2009, on another biopic musical“Nowhere Boy“, about John Lennon.
From the important series of HBO Max“Industry“, Marisa Abela will play the main role. By your side and, so far, they are confirmed Jack O’Connell (“Ferrari”), Eddie Marsan (“Fair Play”) and Lesley Manville (“Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris”). “Back to Black” already has a release date debut scheduled for May 10th of next year.
