The animation is the director’s biggest commercial success in Japan, having ended its exhibition in the country in May this year and earning 14.790 billion yen (about US$105.3 million). The film arrived in Brazilian cinemas in April.

In the plot, we follow young Suzume who, one fine day, meets a young boy looking for a door. From there, she goes on an adventure in search of these mysterious doors. She must lock them all so that a catastrophe does not occur in Japan.
