CINEMUNDO CHANNEL
MIDSOMMAR – THE RITUAL (JANUARY 29 12:10 AM)
“Dani and Christian are a young couple going on vacation to a summer festival in a remote and idyllic Swedish village. But the relaxed atmosphere takes a sinister turn when visitors are asked to participate in increasingly unsettling and viscerally disturbing activities.”, can be read in the official synopsis and is one of the great films on TV this week.
For our critic Claudio Alves, “Midsommar – The Ritual” deforms and transforms what could be a mundane crisis – a grieving person watching their relationship fall apart – and turns it into an odyssey through the craziest corners of the human psyche. With this sacrament of blood, this slasher made to measure slow cinema, Ari Aster assumes himself as the pagan king of contemporary horror cinema. The director uses his themes and formalism like a cannon aimed at the viewer and fires.”
