Director Denis Villeneuve made some revelations about the status of the third “Dune” film.
Villeneuve is one of the most important filmmakers of recent times. Despite having made films such as “Prisoners”, “The First Encounter” and “Sicário – Infiltrator”the French-Canadian director gained greater notoriety with the new adaptation of Frank Herbert’s literary universe, “Dune – Dune”.
The first film was a huge success where Paul Atreides has a vision of a war that spreads across the universe, however this moment only occurred in Frank Herbert’s second book, “Dune: Messiah”, which is being adapted to be the last chapter of this trilogy.
The film’s cast includes Timothée Chalamet, ZendayaStellan Skarsgard, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin It is Javier Bardem.
A second part This trilogy arrives in national cinemas on March 14, 2014, where we see Paul Atreides (Chalamet) on the rise to defeat the Harkonnens, after having destroyed his family, and free the Fremen. However, the films are not the only adaptations of Frank Herbert’s universe in development, as there is a series, “Dune: The Sisterhood” in development by HBO Max.
This series, originally known as “The Sisterhood”, will take place some 10,000 years before the events of Denis Villeneuve’s epic, which will explore the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a mystical religious sect, focusing on its founders: Valya and Tula Harkonnen . The director also confessed that he thinks the Part two It’s better than the first part, as it managed to do more with the characters, in terms of relationships, and be more exciting than the first part of the trilogy.
