Is bigger always better? Maybe yes maybe no! However, it is undeniable that there is a feeling of pride or success when we buy our first really big TV! However, there are minimum requirements… After all, it’s almost always a bad idea to put a giant TV in a small room in your house!
There are minimum distances to ensure you have the best possible image quality, and of course, not cause damage to your eyes.
Do you know how far it should be from your TV? Find out here!
When you are looking for a new TV for your home, it may make sense to buy a smaller TV, which in turn will be able to adapt better to your room, and thus obtain the best possible viewing experience. To do this, the key is to understand the ideal distance at which you should sit in order to have a better viewing experience, while also protecting your health.
If your TV is 4K, you can get a little closer to your TV in relation to the measurements mentioned in the image above. For example, for a 40” TV, you can sit at a distance of 1~1.5m instead of 1.8m, however, for a 50” TV the distance drops to 1.2~2m.
The ideal viewing distance for 4K Ultra HD TVs is between 1 and 1.5 times the diagonal width of the screen.
In short, even if you have enough money for a 90-inch TV… It might not be the best idea for you and your home. After all, if you are too close to the image, you will start to notice the pixels that serve as the basis of any “frame”. As you can imagine, nothing spoils the experience and immersion of watching a film or series more than realizing that everything you are watching is actually a set of squares with different colors.
