Synopsis for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Sousou no Frieren)
The Demon King was defeated, and the victorious group of heroes returned to their respective homes after disbanding. The four (magician Frieren, hero Himmel, priest Heiter and warrior Eisen) look back on their decade-long journey when it’s time to say goodbye. But the passage of time is different for elves, so Frieren witnesses his beloved companions slowly die.
Before his death, Heiter manages to impose on Frieren a young human apprentice named Fern. Driven by the elf’s passion for gathering a series of magical spells, the pair embark on a seemingly aimless journey, revisiting the places that ancient heroes visited. Throughout his travels, Frieren slowly comes to grips with his regrets over missed opportunities to form deeper bonds with his deceased companions.
