As expected, all major smartphone launches at the beginning of 2024 will be extremely focused on Artificial Intelligence. This is nothing new to anyone. However, it turns out to be very interesting to see how each manufacturer wants to enter this new world.
Why? We are living in a time where all brands are talking about Artificial Intelligence and how revolutionary it will be. However, none of these companies have any idea what will actually result in consumers’ daily lives.
That’s why there is now an open door for manufacturers that are a little less known on the market, to launch something incredible, and thus beat the giants Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi.
HONOR has already started its adventure! What is awesome? Well, the Chinese manufacturer that is trying to take Huawei’s space believes in a more proactive way of doing things. In other words, the smartphone has to do things based on intuition and intention.
This means that the smartphone will perform actions before you even put your finger on the application!
HONOR has released MagicOS 8.0! Now with a lot of “intention”
Therefore, HONOR has just launched the new version of its interface that usually goes above Google’s Android, that is, the new Magic OS 8.0. What do we have new? According to the brand, we have an AI platform completely integrated into the operating system, capable of bringing major improvements in at least 4 important areas.
What areas are these? We are therefore talking about Intelligent Connectivity, Performance, Privacy/Security, and the ever so important aesthetics.
All of this is due to the implementation of MagicLMHONOR’s local language model with around 7 billion parameters. In a very brief and more concrete way, HONOR does not want to promise “right away” great features based on Artificial Intelligence. Instead, it wants to offer an operating system that is better able to understand the user’s intentions, and later adapt to what really matters.
In this way, always based on “Intention“, HONOR states that, thanks to these changes, MagicOS 8.0 provides services according to the user’s intentions, instead of acting according to requests.
In other words, MagicOS 8.0 will be able to “interpret language, images, gestures and eye movements to understand the user’s intention and offer services proactively”. In short, things will happen before you even lift your finger!
So, when you want to do something, the apps will appear in front of you, all you need to do is swipe them to open them completely. Everything automatically. Almost as if it were magic.
This is HONOR’s bet for 2024, with MagicOS 8.0 hitting the market with the new Magic 6 Pro. Does it seem smart, or more measured compared to what Samsung is preparing?
