SAND LAND game will be released in April

A Bandai Namco and the ILCA announced that the game SAND LAND based on the manga by Akira Toriyama (creator of Dragon Ball) with the same name will be released on April 25th in Japan for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. In the description of SAND LAND we can read:

Immerse yourself in a desert world where humans and demons suffer from an extreme shortage of water.

Embody the demon prince, Beelzebub, Sheriff Rao and the Thief and go on an adventure in search of a legendary spring hidden in the desert.

Whether aboard vehicles or on foot, players will encounter dangers and allies in the vast desert as they discover the many secrets of SAND LAND. Vehicle and character combat are the main highlights of the game.

Players will have access to a variety of vehicles that they can customize and equip with equipment to traverse the desert, overcome obstacles and face a variety of powerful enemies.

Sand Land anime series on Disney+ in 2024

An anime film adaptation premiered in August 2023 and in spring 2024 it will premiere on Disney+ an anime series based on Sandland taking advantage of scenes from the film and introducing them to the scenarios.

The manga Sandland was released by Akira Toriyama in Weekly Shōnen Jump from May to August 2000. And its only volume was published in November 2000.

Sand Land Synopsis:

In the distant future, war has destroyed the entire Earth, leaving only a barren desert where the water supply is controlled by the greedy king. Searching for a long-lost lake, Sheriff Rao asked the king of demons for help… and got the king’s son, Beelzebub, and his assistant, Thief. Toriyama began his first serialized manga, Dr. Slumpin 1980, and inspired two anime series and several films. Toriyama continued later with Dragon Ball, which was released from 1984 to 1995, and still inspires sequels and spinoffs in the form of manga and anime today.
