After two highly successful seasons and a hot spin-off, “Bridgerton” is already scheduled to return on Netflix!
Premiered in 2020 in full confinement, “Bridgerton” got people talking with its charismatic characters and its sizzling plot, offering viewers themes for several months of conversation among fans and great debates among the general public. A Netflix series is an adaptation of the saga of literary novels by Julia QuinnAmerican writer responsible for great works such as “After the Scandal” It is “Ten Things I Love About You“.
As with the original works, each volume in the series follows the love story of a different member of the Bridgerton family. The first season of the series was dedicated to the memorable passion between Daphne Basset (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), already the second revealed the romance of the family patriarch, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kathani (Simone Ashley).
The popularity of the series led to the creation of a spin off“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story“. This project was dedicated to the life and romance of one of the most beloved secondary characters from the original series, Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio), and his experience with King George III’s tragic illness (Corey Mylchreest). Now, with the series returning for a third chapter, Netflix is once again revealing the story of a new member of the titular family.
A NEW SEASON, A NEW TALE
After Anthony and Daphne it was time for global audiences to hear Colin’s story (Luke Newton) and his journey to eternal love. The new season is described as “ultra-sexy”, promising to return to its origins with a story that will certainly melt hearts. During the eight chapters of this new novel, fans of the series will be able to follow the evolution of the torrid passion between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin in what will be an epic journey filled with love, betrayal and some mystery.
Throughout its first two seasons, the series managed to surprise critics, gaining a large consensus. Peter Travers from the ABC News describes the series as a “success of Shondalandhis first for Netflix, is set in London, in 1813, and features a colorblind cast, a star mega-sexyRegé-Jean Page (“Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves“), and a sweeping romance enough to keep us entertained… Prepare to faint.”
Already Brianna Wellen of Chicago Reader notes that: “’Bridgerton’ gives us everything we’re craving right now: extravagant parties, elaborate costumes, gossip, human touch.”
With a weighty position between the content of the Netflix already solidified, the series returns to the streaming platform in two parts, the first on May 16, 2024, and the second on June 13, 2024.
