Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth are the stars of “Furiosa”, the prequel to “Mad Max” and they are unrecognizable.
The first images of the “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa” were revealed during the convention CCXP In Sao Paulo Brazil.
In the original film, Charlize Theron was the one who gave life to the warrior Imperator Furiosa, one of tyrant Joe’s lieutenants, when she helped the tyrant’s wives escape his clutches. In the middle of this is Max, who was captured by the tyrant’s men and ends up helping Furiosa and the other women escape to save their own skins. All this in a world where water and gasoline are scarce and the world is in chaos.
This film was very well received at its premiere, showing a new way of doing action, and even received a nomination for Best Film at the Oscars.
In addition to Theron, “Mad Max: Fury Road” also featured Tom Hardy (“Venom”), Nicholas Hoult (“The Great”), Zoe Kravitz (“The Batman”), Hugh Keays-Byrne, Josh Helman (“The Pacific”), Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers 3”), Riley Keough (“Daisy Jones & The Six”), Abbey Lee, Courtney Eaton (“Yellowjackets”), among others.
In this prequel, we will follow the events that turned Furiosa into what we see in the 2015 film. A young Furiosa is taken from her home into the hands of a warlord, Dementus. It is in this situation, with two factions trying to take control, that Furiosa must survive and find her way home, fulfilling her promise.
This whole world came from the head of George Millerwho was responsible for the original 1979 film and then the 2015 one. Now the 78-year-old director gives us another chapter in this story.
In addition to Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Queen’s Gambit”), the cast also features Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”) as Dementus, who could be the younger version of Hugh Keays-Byrne’s character or a new villain, Nathan Jones like Rictus Erectus, Angus Sampson (“Insidious: Chapter 3”) as The Organic Mechanic and Daniel Webber as War Boy. In addition to this names also Tom Burke (“The Three Musketeers”), Alyla Browne (“Three Thousand Years of Desire”), Quaden Bayles and Lachy Hulme are part of the cast.
Taylor-Joy appears in this film with a different look than what was seen in “Mad Max: Fury Road” with Charlize Theron, however this does not mean that at the end of the film this transformation will not be seen.
