Classroom of the Elite 3 already has a release date

A Kadokawa announced that the third season of the anime series adaptation of the novel Classroom of the Elite (Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e) by Syohgo Kinugasa (author) and Shunsaku Tomose (illustrator) will debut on January 3, 2024.

Initially Classroom of the Elite 3 was scheduled to premiere in 2023, but its second season faced multiple production problems, and the third season ended up being postponed until Winter Anime Season 2024 (January-March).

Classroom of the Elite began to be published in May 2015 by MF Bunko J forming a total of 14 volumes (including 4.5, 7.5 and 11.5). Later, in January 2020, the sequel began to be published Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: 2-nensei-hen.

The work ended up being adapted into a 12-episode anime series in July 2017 and its second season premiered in July 2022. Animation is the responsibility of Lerchethe direction is Seiji Kishi (Assassination Classroom, Persona 4 The Animation) and Hiroyuki Hashimoto (Is the order a rabbit?), the argument is Aoi Akashiro (Fuuka, KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!) and the character design is by Kazuaki Morita (Tsuki ga Kirei, Danganronpa The Animation, Assassination Classroom).

The story takes place at Kōdo Ikusei Senior High School where 100% of students go to university or get a job. Students are free to wear any hairstyle and bring any type of personal accessory. Kōdo Ikusei seems like a paradise of a school but the truth is that only top students receive preferential treatment.

The protagonist Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a student in Class D, which is where the school dumps its “inferior” students to ridicule them. For a certain reason, Kiyotaka failed his entrance exam and was placed in class D. After meeting Suzune Horikita and Kikyou Kushida, two other students in his class, Kiyotaka’s situation begins to change.
