The poster for one of the biggest music festivals in the world, Coachella, has been revealed. And among the names are three K-Pop groups.
O music Festival Coachella was created in 1999, taking place between two weekends, normally during the month of April. For music fans, this is one of those festivals that is on the list to attend.
During the years that this festival has been active, many South Korean artists have participated there. In 2011, electronic duo EE were the first act from South Korea to participate in the festival.
In 2016, it was the turn of Epik High, one of the biggest hip hop groups in South Korea, who brought together their most popular songs for the concert. 2019 was a big year with BLACKPINK’s debut at the festival, becoming the first K-Pop girl group to perform at the event, and two indie bands with HYUKOH and Jambinai.
In 2020, the poster for the festival was revealed, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that year was to see the return of Epik High and also the triumphant debut of BIG BANGafter members have completed their military service.
The festival returned with a bang in 2022, when it almost turned into a K-Pop festival with a large number of guest artists. Epik High returned in 2022 after a failed attempt in 2020. 2NE1 performed together for the first time in six years in that year’s edition. Other artists who took the stage in 2022 were BIBI, a solo artist, Jackson Wangwho, although he is Chinese, is known by K-Pop fans for being part of the group GOT7, and the aespawhich debuted in the United States.
Last year, we saw the BLACKPINK back to the festival and this time as headliner. There was also the return of Jackson Wangwho worked with the American artist Ciaraand the premieres of DPR Ian + DPR Live and Loren.
For 2024, three new K-Pop groups have been revealed that will participate in the Coachella festival. ATEEZ will take the stage on the same days as Lana Del Rey is the headliner on the 12th and 19th of April. LE SSERAFIM will debut at the festival on the days when Tyler, The Creator is headlining, on the 13th and 20th of April. The Rose will perform on the days where Doja Cat is the headliner, April 14th and 21st.
You ATEEZ are a boy group formed by KQ Entertainment that debuted in 2018. The group consists of eight members: Hongjoon, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho. The most recently comeback of the group was with “Crazy Form”.
To the LE SSERAFIM are a female group formed by Source Music, a company that is part of HYBEwhich debuted in 2022. The group consists of five members: Sakura, Kim Chae Won, Huh Yu Jin, Kazuha It is Hong Eun Chae.
You The Rose are a South Korean band that reached mainstream in 2017. The group consists of four members: Kim Woo Sung, Pak Do Joon, Lee Ha Joon It is Lee Jae Hyeong.
