Creator of “Blacksad” at Comic Con Portugal 2024

A Comic Con Portugal announced that in its 2024 edition, which will take place from March 21st to 24th at Exponor (Matosinhos) will be present Juan Díaz Canales (Blacksad) and Teresa Valero (Contrapaso).

Juan Díaz Canales He trained as a designer at the extinct “Lápiz Azul” studio and, in 1996, founded the studio with three colleagues Trident Animationin which he worked for ten years on television series and feature films.

During the first years of his artistic training he met Juanjo Guarnido and decide to present a project in France: “Blacksad”, a police detective starring a cat detective. The saga became a bestseller worldwide, translated into more than twenty languages ​​and won some of the most prestigious awards in the sector.

Teresa Valero started in the world of animation where he worked as a storyboard It is layout in feature films and television series. Along with Juan Díaz Canalesfounded the Tridente Animation studio.

He began writing scripts for comics and created, in partnership with other artists, the works “Brujeando”, “Curiosity Shop” and “Gentlemind”. The first solo adventure, “Countermeasure”, a masterful comic thriller about the Spain that the dictatorship wanted to silence, was acclaimed by critics and the public.
