Destiny 2: The Final Form postponed until June 4, 2024

A Bungie announced that the launch of the expansion Destiny 2: The Final Form (Destiny 2: The Final Shape) has been postponed to June 4, 2024. The release was originally scheduled for February 27, 2024.

In the message published on its official website we can read:

Hey guys. Let’s get straight to the point. Final Form needs more time to become exactly what we want it to be, so we’ve pushed back its release to June 4, 2024.

Final Form is the result of the first ten years of Destiny’s history, and for Guardians around the world, it’s also the result of countless hours spent with friends. We want to do justice to this journey, so we will take the time necessary to deliver an even bolder and grander experience, one that will be remembered fondly for years to come.

Naturally, this change reveals doubts about our release schedule. The Season of Wishes begins tomorrow, and has been extended until the release of The Final Form in June. While the majority of the Season of Wishes content and narrative will be published between late November and February, as planned, we will be adding new content that will be available to all players until the release of The Final Form.

In February, we’ll launch Wishes, new progression-based weekly quests, as well as Moments of Triumph, which will offer unique rewards. Then it’s time for the Guardian Games, which will be with us until March, this time with a renewed focus on inter-class competition. In April, we will publish Destiny 2: Into Light, an update with two months of content that will be available to everyone and that will prepare Guardians to follow the Witness to the Traveler. All this plus the work of the PvP Squad, which is already designing the new PvP maps scheduled for May.

We know you’re looking forward to Final Form. In this context, we are aware that postponements are not welcome. Still, we are happy to have the extra time to offer the best Final Form. We’ll be sharing a lot more information in April, including gameplay footage so you can preview the new content being developed.

In the description of Destiny 2: The Final Form we can read:

The Final Form approaches – a terrifying calcification of reality in the Witness’ distorted conception. Embark on a dangerous journey to the heart of the Traveler, mobilize the Vanguard and end the War of Light and Dark.
