After “Ahsoka”, Disney+ has another “Star Wars” series on the way and it’s closer than you think.
In 1977, the first film of the “Star Wars” saga, which began as a crazy dream of George Lucas it would end up becoming one of the most culturally relevant properties not only in the science fiction genre, but in cinema as a whole.
Under the rule of Disney it’s from Kathleen Kennedy “Star Wars” is today one of the most vital brands in the industry, going far beyond the family Skywalker and the initial vision of its author.
In cinema, we have already been presented with a trilogy that presented a new generation of characters like Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren, “Rogue One” a prequel to original film and also the origin story of the most beloved smuggler in the galaxy, “Solo: A Star Wars Story”.
Not all of these projects were a success, but it has been on the small screen where “Star Wars” has been in force, thanks to the universe of “The Mandalorian” imagined by Jon Favreau It is Dave Filloni which already includes the homonymous series, “The Book of Bobba Fett” and more recently, “Ahsoka”. SQUID GAME STAR ON THE WAY TO A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY
The next series in the “Star Wars” universe will be “The Acolyte”created by Leslie Headland, more linked to the world of comedy. Headland has films such as “Four Friends and a Wedding” (2012) with Kirsten Dunst or “Sleeping with other people” (2015) with Jason Sudeikis and Alison Brie. When it comes to her television work, Headland is best remembered for being the co-creator of the comedy “Russian Doll” starring Natasha Lyonne.
With an experienced director at the helm of the project, the 8-episode series will take place fifty years before the events that took place in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (Episode I)” and will follow a former Jedi Padawan and her former Master as they become involved in an investigation of sinister crimes in an ever-changing galaxy that will lead them to confront sinister forces.
In the role of the protagonist, you will be Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate U Give”) accompanied by the Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae who had to talk about “Squid Game”. In addition to this promising duo, the cast also has Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnettbetween others.
