Since the time HONOR separated from Huawei, after several problems with sanctions and removal of essential services, there was a feeling that if they wanted something similar to what the Chinese giant Huawei was capable of offering, this was the alternative more correct for your mobile tech life.

After all, the build quality is extremely similar, the design is always very out of the box and pleasant to look at, and of course, the software is not that different, with the big difference being that we have Google services without any limitations on top. In short, HONOR learned everything it could and did from its older sister, and when it arrived on the market without help, it put all these lessons to use.

The proof is in front of us, now in the form of the HONOR Magic6 and Magic6 Pro!

HONOR Magic6 has been announced and is a threat to Samsung and Apple!

Therefore, after the announcement of the foldable V2 last year, which will most likely be the most interesting “Fold” smartphone on the market in 2024, HONOR took advantage of the beginning of 2024 to announce its new top-of-the-range products in a traditional format for the Android ecosystem.

For now, this launch is still limited to China only, which is almost always a problem for these manufacturers, who focus too much on their own market, and then almost always end up arriving too late on the Global side of things. But… In this case it will be quick!

Everything indicates that the Global launch of these smartphones will take place within a month, at MWC 2024 in Barcelona – Spain.

Having said all this, what is special about us here?

Thus, the HONOR Magic6 was officially announced today alongside its Pro brother. However, both in terms of designs and even in terms of specifications, the differences are not that many. The big differences are… In the cameras!

In short, the HONOR Magic6 is a smartphone with a curved screen, minimal margins, and of course, a small hole for the front camera. The Pro model also adds a 3D facial recognition system.

Then we have a 6.8” LTPO AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1280, and the ability to go up to 120Hz. To serve as the basis for all this, we have a Snapdragon 8 Gen3 SoC, with both versions of the phone having 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage goes up to 1TB on the Pro model, and 512GB on the base model.

Both devices have 5450mAh batteries, but the fast charging speeds are slightly different. 66W wired and 50W wireless for the base model, and 88W wired and 66W wireless for the Pro model.

However, in the field of cameras is where we have the biggest differences. It’s easy to say that both smartphones are incredible at capturing images, however, it’s undeniable that the Pro model’s main objectives are to be a real camera, both front and back.

For this, in the Pro model we have three sensors (50MP + 180MP + 50MP) and on the front another 50MP sensor. The results will certainly be incredible, to the point of placing this new smartphone at the top of the comparative tables for photographic capture quality.

As for the price, in China, it starts at around €600. However, as you can imagine, the price in Europe will definitely be a little different.
