One of the most anticipated series of 2024 will be the return of “House of the Dragon”, the spin-off of “Game of Thrones”. Now one of its stars has made a revelation.

“House of the Dragon” is based on the book by George R. R. Martin“Fire & Blood”, which takes place some 170 years before the events seen in “Game of Thrones” where the story of House Targaryen at its height and its fall with the civil war that almost destroyed Westeros and its dragons is told.

During the first season we saw the political turmoil in Westeros after Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen was named heir to the throne and the Seven Kingdoms. The problem was that most of the court did not want a woman as Queen, with Princess Rhaenys Targaryen being pushed aside in favor of her cousin Viserys when King Jaehaerys I Targaryen was left without direct heirs.

In the end we saw the greens placing Aegon, Alicent Hightower’s eldest son with King Viserys I Targaryen, on the throne and the beginning of the diplomatic war between the Hightowers and the Targaryens until the death of Lucerys ‘Luke’ Velaryon, one of the sons of Rhaenyra.

In the new season we will begin to see the first steps of this bloody war, however we will have the return of Matt Smith as Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen, Eve Best as Rhaenys Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Corlys Velaryon, Fabien Frankel as Criston Cole, Ewan Mitchell like Aemond Targaryen, Tom Glynn-Carney as Aegon Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, Rhys Ifan as Otto Hightower and Harry Collett as Jacaerys ‘Jace’ Targaryen.

But we already know the names of some of the new faces who will participate in the second season of the series, such as: Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull; Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers; Freddie Cox as Gwayne Hightower; Simon Russell Beale as Simon Strong; Tom Taylor as Cregan Stark; Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull; Jamie kenna as Alfred Broome; Kieran Rew as Hugh; Tom Bennett as Ulf; It is Vincent Regan as Rickard Thorne.

HBO has been trying to keep some details about the series secret. Only recently, Matt Smith gave an interview to BBC Radio 2 where he revealed that recording for the new season ended in September 2023, although it is possible that they could be called upon to record dialogue in post-production.

Another detail that the 41-year-old actor, who was Doctor Who and Prince Felipe in “The Crown”was that the premiere is for the summer, in particular in August.
