Google offers several options when it comes to internet storage. 15GB is free. However, this space fills up quickly. It’s shared with several Google apps, including Gmail, Google Photos and Google Drive and now even Google backups. Whatsapp count for this. This is why people subscribe to at least a 100GB plan that costs 1.99 Euros per month. But even that space is small. That’s why people should normally subscribe to the following plan which costs 2.99 Euros which is even cheaper with an annual subscription. However, if you want to take advantage of this and have more space on Google you have to be quick. Apparently Google is going to end this plan and then you will have to pay 9 Euros!

Google One this week celebrated 100 million subscribers and introduced its new 2 TB AI plan with Gemini Advanced. In the midst of this, the company tried to introduce a change in its plans that means a big disadvantage for those who are only interested in a little storage. It appears that Google has removed the 200GB plan in some regions, making you jump directly to 2TB if you run out of storage on your 100GB plan.

The missing 200 GB plan was detected by GoogleWatchBlog on the German Google One page. The same in other regions. At this moment in Portugal the same thing happened. If you enter incognito mode you will see that the plan is missing from this page. However, if you log in and have a 100GB plan, for example, you will be able to see the 200GB plan and upgrade.

If your 100GB space is running out and you just need more storage capacity, then upgrade now.

It’s possible that Google is slowly rolling out the change to people currently signed up to the 100 or 200 GB plan, but is now no longer allowing anyone else to sign up for that option.

Another possibility is that Google has started hiding the 200GB plan for new subscribers by default to make the 2TB AI Premium option more interesting. After all, it is also not possible to view Google One’s 5, 20 and 30 TB plans when you are not a subscriber or are not logged in.
