New Pon no Michi trailer

With its premiere scheduled for January 5, 2024, you can see a new trailer for the original anime series above. Pon no Michi (The Way of Pon). in the video you can hear the opening theme “Pon-Popopon” by Kana Nakada feat. the Pon no Michi All-Stars.

The animation is from the studio OLM (Pokémon, Summer Time Rendering, ODD TAXI, Komi can’t communicate), the direction and story is by Tatsuma Minamikawa (Fire Force, Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry) and the character design is by Kenji Ōta (key animation, Pokémon XY) based on the drawings of Negi Haruba (The Quintessential Quintuplets).

Synopsis of Pon no Michi

The anime takes place in the city of Onomichi, in Hiroshima Prefecture, where a high school student Nashiko Jippensha was expelled from her home. Without a place to play with her friends, she discovers that the mahjong room her father ran is empty. She fixes up the mahjong room and turns it into a place where she and her friends can have fun, cook, drink tea and sometimes play mahjong.
