New promotional video for The Elusive Samurai

In this Jump Festa 2024 this new promotional video for the anime series adaptation of the manga has been revealed The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) by Yuusei Matsui. Below you can see a promotional image.

Scheduled to premiere in 2024, the animation is from the studio Cloverworks (The Promised Neverland, Wonder Egg Priority, Spy x Family), directed by Yuuta Yamazaki (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru, Yuru Camp, Wonder Egg Priority) and the character design is by Yasushi Nishiya (Chikyuugai Shounen Shoujo, Pocket Monsters: Coco, Summer Time Render).

The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi) began to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2021 and was the first serialized publication of Yuusei Matsui five years after he concluded Assassination Classroom (Ansatsu Kyoushitsu) which was also adapted into an anime.

Synopsis of The Elusive Samurai

Eight-year-old Tokiyuki Houjou, the next successor to the Kamakura shogunate, is a talentless boy. One day, his carefree life is turned upside down when Takauji Ashikaga brutally seizes power from the Kamakura, ending his reign. Rescued by a self-proclaimed prophetic priest, Tokiyuki manages to escape with his life. Now he must elude those trying to kill him while recruiting comrades who can help him restore the Kamakura shogunate to its former glory.
