A Kadokawa revealed that on March 26th it will publish the 5th and final volume of Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha (The Dreaming Boy Is a Realist), the manga adaptation by Popuri Yoshikita from the novel Okemaru.
Okemaru began publishing the novel online on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in December 2018 and Popuri Yoshikita began publishing a manga adaptation in Shōnen Ace Plus in March 2021. Its 4th volume was released on June 26, 2023.
An anime series adaptation premiered in July 2023. The animation is from Studio Gokumi (World’s End Harem, Tsuredure Children, Yuki Yuna Is a Hero) and AXsiZ (Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Ms. Koizumi loves ramen noodles), directed by Kazuomi Koga (Rent-A-Girlfriend, Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible), the script is by Michiko Yokote (Shirobako, Prison School, Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin) and the character design is by Masaru Koseki (World’s End Harem, Demon King Daimao). The sound is the responsibility of Hajime Takakuwa (Rent-A-Girlfriend, Spice and Wolf).
Synopsis of Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha
In this story of unrequited love, high school student Wataru Sajõ is in love with his beautiful classmate Aika Natsukawa. Aika thinks he’s a nuisance, but he dreams of her mutual love every day and continues to get closer to her. One day, however, he suddenly wakes up from this “dream”. To regain his sense of reality, he recognizes her position and stays away from Aika. But now, for some reason, Aika is completely shaken.
