Sean Connery was one of the best actors to play secret agent James Bond. But there was one scene that the artist really didn’t want to do.

In 1952, Ian Fleming wrote the first book in the 007 saga, “Casino Royale”. The success was instantaneous, which led him to write eleven more books, two published after his death. The British writer worked in the British Naval Intelligence Division during the Second World Wara time in his life that had a huge influence on this saga.

Never Say Never Again” (1983) marked the seventh and final participation Sean Connery in the legendary role. To end one of the scenes in this film on a high note, the actor had to wear a diving suit and venture into the water with a large shark nearby.

O Scottish actor quickly refused to record this scene, without taking the necessary precautions – “I’m not very good at underwater things and I was very, very nervous about the idea of ​​diving”, the actor told JohnnyCarson on one of his television programs. Sean Connery explains the process – “to get down to the inside of the boat, about 50-60 feet, I was breathing twice as much as everyone else and the place was covered in blisters because I was always panicking.”.

But in the end he ended up recording the scene with the help of someone – “the guy was trying to explain to me that, if I breathed normally, they would be able to film it more easily and see who it was. Even in the final film version, there’s a panic in my eyesI can see”.
