Tom Holland, who rose to stardom as Spider-Man in the MCU, will return to the theater with a great classic.
Tom Holland is one of the great British actors of the moment. His career began when he entered dance classes at age nine, where he caught the attention of the choreographer who told him to audition for the musical “Billy Elliot.”
The actor managed to get into the musical, however he started with a secondary role but quickly got the main role in the play. Holland began his film career with the film “The Impossible” with Naomi Watts and Evan McGregorwhere we follow a family who is separated after the tsunami that devastated Southeast Asia in 2004.
But it was in 2016 that the actor achieved stardom with his entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the new Spider man with “Captain America: Civil War”. The actor jumped from films to Marvel for Sony with solo films alongside Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau and Jacob Batalon.
In recent years, Tom Holland has expanded his range of films with “Uncharted” alongside Mark Wahlberg, “Cherry” with Ciaro Bravo, “Chaos Walking – The Noise” with Daisy Ridley, “Always the Devil” with Bill Skarsgard, Sebastian Stan It is Robert Pattinson, among many others. Most recently, the actor can be seen in the Apple TV+ series, “The Crowded Room”.
Now, Holland will return to his origins with a new show in London’s West End, where he will bring Romeo to life in “Romeo & Juliet”. This play will be directed by Jamie Lloyd, responsible for plays such as “Sunset Boulevard” with Nicole Scherzinger“A Doll’s House” with Jessica Chastain and “Betrayal”com Tom Hiddleston.
Other names associated with the play have not yet been revealed, such as who Juliet will be, however it is known that she will be on stage in the Duke of York Theater from May 11th to August 3rd.
“Romeo and Juliet” was one of the first tragedies written by William Shakespeare, following the love of two teenagers from rival families who face everything and everyone to be together, even in death. This is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works, alongside “Hamlet”.
This play has already been adapted several times in both theater and cinema, in the latter the most popular adaptation will be that of Baz Luhrmann 1996 with Leonardo DiCaprio It is Claire Danes in the main roles.
