Despite being better known in the music industry, Snoop Dogg is also an actor and has just become the protagonist of the latest film in the Prime Video catalog.
Calvin Broadusbetter known by his stage name Snoop Dogg, is one of the most popular names in North American hip-hop, with a career that spans more than three decades. Over the years, the rapper has stood out for its relaxed style, with its image associated with cannabis consumption. Despite being a prominent figure in the music industry, Snoop Dogg has also made some appearances on the big screen. Now, Prime Video has released “The Underdogs“, a film that features the singer in the lead role.
In “The Underdoggs”, Snoop Dogg plays Jaycen “Two Js” Jennings, a former professional American football player who saw his career sink due to his bad decisions, which led the athlete to rock bottom. As punishment, the player is sentenced to community service and is forced to coach a youth American football team, the Underdoggs. During the process, Jaycen ends up rediscovering his old passion for sport and, while trying to transform the team into true champions, the athlete takes the opportunity to rehabilitate his public image.
In addition to Snoop Dogg, the cast of “The Underdoggs” includes names such as Tika Sumpter (“Sonic 2: The Movie“), Mike Epps (“An Evening with the Blacks Family”), Andrew Schulz (“Upgraded”) and George Lopez (“River”). This fun feature film is now available in the Prime Video catalog.
