If you use WhatsApp on Windows 11, 10, the web version or on mac OS, then you can now send single-view photos or videos again. It is undoubtedly good news that does not come alone. So let’s look at this function that is back in WhatsApp on Windows, albeit with some restrictions.

A great feature is back in WhatsApp on Windows!

As we mentioned above, you can now use the single view option again, but there is a catch. You can send but cannot open these contents. In addition, WhatsApp for desktop now also supports conversations with unknown numbers, that is, those who are not in contact with your phone.

The ability to send single-view photos or videos on WhatsApp was removed from desktop versions in 2021 due to “privacy reasons.” Almost a year later, Facebook has finally addressed potential privacy concerns and will add the feature to WhatsApp for Windows 11, Windows 10, macOS and the web.

However, be aware that it is not necessary to join the company’s beta program to try out the functionality. If you are on version 2.2347.1.0 or newer, you should be able to click the stopwatch icon and easily share these temporary contents.

Unfortunately, viewing these restricted photos on computers is still impossible, and is likely to remain so. It’s just that anyone can find ways to save them before they disappear.

A diverse operating system like Windows allows complex background processes and services to run in conjunction with an application like WhatsApp, which can intercept or record multimedia content such as photos or single-view videos.

However, in the latest update, WhatsApp also received a new feature. This allows you to open a conversation with a phone number that is not in your contacts.

I remember that WhatsApp has been actively working on new features for the desktop version with the latest major update adding support for screen sharing and much more.

All of these new features are coming to the stable channel, and you can get the update by going to the Microsoft Store.
