Millions of car owners around the world use Android Auto, bringing some of the advantages of the Android platform to their vehicles. But, as long-time users will tell you, it has its share of flaws. The owners of smartphones Xiaomi, in particular, has been experiencing connection issues on the wireless version of Android Auto since June this year, with the problem arising whenever mobile data is not available. Google now has an update on this particular question, although the answer may not please everyone.
Android Auto will become friendlier to Xiaomi smartphones!
In response to a thread on the Android Auto support page, a representative says that these connectivity issues should be resolved after updating Xiaomi smartphones to Android 14. This seems like a pretty simple solution, but it’s a bit more complex than that.
As one user pointed out, connection issues with wireless Android Auto haven’t abated even with Android 14 installed. Additionally, Xiaomi’s Android 14 rollout has been quite limited, to say the least. While a long list of devices are expected to receive the update, the model used by the original complainant, the Xiaomi 12T Pro, has not yet received Android 14.
However, the problem may be affecting more than just Xiaomi smartphones. A comment in the same thread from a few hours ago talks about the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra being affected as well, while there is a decent mix of other smartphones also mentioned.
However, thanks to the website 9to5Google, it has been discovered that problems with wireless Android Auto on Samsung Galaxy devices may be more widespread. Several users have reported connectivity issues after updating Android 14/One UI 6 on their phones. But, on the positive side, you can use it with wires without any problems.
Interestingly, some Google Pixel owners on Android 14 are also in a similar situation.
