Many people don’t know this but the truth is that bacteria and even visible mold can grow on clothes in just 24 to 48 hours. When left unwashed, clothes create that distinct smelly smell we all recognize.

If you are unsure about how long the dishes have been in the dishwasher, the best way is to use your nose. Since the musty smell settles in around eight hours, if it has this characteristic odor you already know how long it has been there.

However, when washing again, you do not have to use a hot program. This is to save something. Therefore, use a low temperature program.
