Finally the long-awaited battles between Fremen and Harkonnens on Arrakis in the new Dune 2 trailer

The new trailer for “Dune – Part 2” by Denis Villeneuve was presented, and it is already causing people to talk.

Denis Villeneuve is the person behind this film, and he is one of the most highly regarded directors today. The director was responsible for works such as “Blade Runner 2049”“The first date”, “Sicario – Infiltrated” and the film adaptation of “The Duplicate Man” by our José Saramago, in addition to “Dune-Duna”.

This feature film is based on the literary universe created by Frank Herbert that follows the journey of Paul Atreides, a man who is destined to unite two very different peoples in the midst of an intergalactic conflict against the forces of the Harkonnen, who destroyed his family, and the entire empire.

Timothée Chalamet is the protagonist of these films, and with him are Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible – Reckoning”), Zendaya (“Euphoria”), Oscar Isaac (“Moon Knight”), Jason Momoa (“Aquaman”), Stellan Skarsgard (“Andor”), Javier Bardem (“007: Skyfall”), Dave Bautista (“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”), Josh Brolin (“Avengers: Endgame”), among many others.

“Dune – Part 2” will arrive in national cinemas on March 14, 2024, which in addition to the original cast has the addition of Florence Pugh (“Little Women”), Austin Butler (“Elvis”), Léa Seydoux (“007: No Time to Die”) and Christopher Walken (“The Jungle Book”).

In this new trailer we see more action, particularly between the Fremen and the Harkonnen, however there is a certain focus on some characters who have a more prominent role in this sequel such as Butler’s character, Pugh’s and Walken’s.



In addition to the action, the other focus of this trailer was the relationship between Paul and Chani, with Paul revealing some details of his visions/nightmares but, at the same time, he feels that he is still not accepted by the Fremen.

Denis Villeneuve confessed that this sequel is much better than the first film and that he is excited by the fan reaction. It is also known what the duration of this film, which exceeds that of the first, with a duration of 2 hours and 46 minutes.

Regarding the last chapter of this trilogy, Villeneuve revealed that the script is almost written but that it will take some time to reach the big screens.

However, in addition to these films, there is another project from Herbert’s universe in development, the series “Dune: The Sisterhood” for the HBO Max. This series, formerly known as “The Sisterhood”, will take place some 10,000 years before the events of the films and will explore the origins of the Bene Gesserit, a mystical religious sect, with a focus on its founders: Valya and Tula Harkonnen.

The series has already undergone some changes to its cast, however it is known that it will feature Olivia Williams, Emily Watson, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofi Boussina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann CunninghamAoife Hinds, Chloe Lea, Travis Fimmel, Mark StrongJade Anouka and Chris Mason.
