To help you get into the Christmas spirit, in December some cinema classics become available on SkyShowtime. Bad Santa, Grinch, and A Christmas Miracle are some of the options you can find on the platform this month.

Christmas time is best accompanied by classic films, for all tastes and the whole family – and you will have plenty of choice in SkyShowtime.

“Grinch” is one of the biggest Christmas classics you can find on the platform. “Um Milagre de Natal”, “Bad Santa”, and “O Amor Não Tira Férias” are other featured and available productions.

In “A Merry Friggin’ Christmas”, Boyd Mitchler (Joel McHale) and his family spend Christmas with his strangest relatives, including his father (played by Academy Award® winner Robin Williams). Boyd realizes that he left the gifts that were for his son at home, and in an attempt to collect the gifts and return before sunrise, he goes on a car trip with his father and younger brother.

In addition to Robin Williams and Joel McHale, the cast of the 2014 film includes Lauren Graham, Clark Duke, Oliver Platt, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Tim Heidecker, and Candice Bergen.



BAD SANTA

“Bad Santa” from 2003 tells the story of conman Willie (Billy Bob Thornton) and his partner Marcus (Tony Cox), who dress up as Santa Claus and his helper in order to rob shopping centers on Christmas Eve. Willie doesn’t like children, but he can’t help but become friends with a little 8-year-old boy (Brett Kelly) who believes that the conman is the real Santa Claus, which brings some problems for the duo but also connects them with the true spirit of Christmas.

The cast also includes Bernie Mac, Lauren Graham, John Ritter, and Lauren Tom.

GRINCH

The little bad green man who needs no introduction. Jim Carrey gives life to Grinch, who lives in Whoville and seeks revenge and ruining Christmas and all the residents of the city.

With settings and characterizations nominated for an Academy Award®, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is the classic adaptation of the original story by Dr. Seuss, released in 2000, and one of the most watched films during the Christmas season.

In addition to Jim Carrey, the film features a cast with more stars: Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, Molly Shannon, Clint Howard, Josh Ryan Evans, Mindy Sterling, Rachel Winfree, Rance Howard, Jeremy Howard, and TJ Thyne.



LOVE DOESN’T TAKE HOLIDAYS

A romantic comedy is always a good option to watch during the Christmas season. In “Love Doesn’t Take a Vacation”, Amanda (Cameron Diaz) and Iris (Oscar® winner Kate Winslet), two women with love crises right before Christmas decide to change things, and exchange homes and countries with each other – Amanda goes to London, and Iris to Los Angeles, where they eventually fall in love with locals.

From screenwriter and director Nancy Meyers, the luxury cast includes Jude Law, Jack BlackEli Wallach, Ed Burns and Rufus Sewell.



WHITE CHRISTMAS

“White Christmas” is a 1954 original about Bob Wallace and Phil Davis (Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye), two army colleagues who, after the war, form a musical comedy duo until they become Broadway stars. The pair become involved with two up-and-coming singers, sister duo Betty and Judy (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen), and they all band together to save a Vermont inn from their former general.
