THE DIRECTOR REVEALED HER INTENTION
In the program “60 Minutes“, Sharyn Alfonsi asked Greta Gerwig about the potential sequel – “I mean, the truth is, you know… I guess we’ll still see”. However, the director revealed that she has a lot of material written about Ken – “we had too much material for Ken. We wrote, wrote and wrote.”
Furthermore, the character was written only with Ryan Gosling in mind – “we wrote the His name in the script and everything.” Despite Greta Gerwig’s response, “Barbie” protagonist Margot Robbie is not very interested in a sequel – “I think we gave everything in this film. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or anything like that,” the actress told Associated Press.
Sergio Bursteinof Los Angeles Times, classified “Barbie” as “one of the best films of the year in cinematographic terms. Probably the best comedy we’ve seen in a long time and an extraordinarily entertaining product that promotes the value of seeking a more cohesive society.”
