The author of the “Game of Thrones” saga confirmed more seasons of “House of the Dragon” and also left his comment on the first episodes of the next one.

George R. R. Martin used your personal blog to summarize his recent trip to London, where he met with the publisher of his books, with the team behind the adaptation of his works for the theater (which the author says could be ready to premiere at the end of 2024), and also with the screenwriters of “House of the Dragon”, who showed the author exclusively the first two episodes of the second season, scheduled for summer 2024.

In a publication published on December 6th, the author of the book saga that gave rise to the television series “Game of Thromes” revealed that the best part of his trip was the opportunity he had to watch a small preview of the second season of “House of the Dragon”, the prequel series from “Game of Thrones” also based in one of his books, “Fire & Blood”.

I’m hardly objective when talking about something based on my own work… but I have to say, I thought both episodes were great (and they’re not even finished yet). Dark, I tell you. Very dark. They can make you cry. (I personally didn’t cry, but one of my friends did).” said George RR Martin in his publication, which leaves high expectations for any fan of the series.

The author reinforced his opinion: “Powerful, moving, harrowing, heartbreaking. Exactly the kind of thing I like. (What can I say? I got used to Shakespeare, and I love tragedies and historical plays more than anything)”.

A second season of “House of the Dragon” was announced this week with a small trailerin which you can see some images of what follows after that one tragic death that we saw happen in end of the first part. Some promotional images were also released, which leave fans’ mouths watering.

And, although the series has not yet been renewed by HBO more than two seasons, George RR Martin confirmed in the same publication that he was “two days locked in a room with Ryan Condal and the rest of the screenwriters [da série] talking about the third and fourth seasons of ‘House of the Dragon’“, which confirms that these are planned and are already being worked on.

“The conversations were full of life and fun, and we did a good job… although two days weren’t nearly enough. There is so much to cover and I’m not sure twenty days would have been enough.”concluded the writer.

The second season of the series, which follows the House Targaryen, is scheduled for summer 2024, and the cast will continue to include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno and Rhys Ifans.
