Renault Zoe reaches the end of the line in 2024!

Published

With the arrival of countless good news on the automotive market, manufacturers are “forced” to remove some production models from stands. Therefore, Renault, like most car companies, cannot escape this rule much and the reason is actually quite simple.

Thus, after 11 years, the Renault Zoe, one of the most popular 100% electric vehicles in Europe, should stop production in 2024!

So, know that all this happens to make room on the production lines for the new offers that are on the way from Renault. In other words, we are going to say goodbye to one of the most popular electric cars in the automotive world, to make room for offers with much more potential, designed for an even more interesting future.

In fact, the successor to the Renault Zoe is already on the way.

End of production of the Zoe makes way for the arrival of the new 100% electric Renault 5!

The manufacturer’s new offering, the Renault 5, is scheduled to be officially revealed to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in February. Curious, given that last year the information was that the Zoe would not be replaced anytime soon. (Probably so as not to affect sales).

After all, this small and agile offering for cities has maintained competitive sales figures against its rivals. Offering, in its latest variant, a 52 kWh battery pack, in turn capable of offering 380 km of purely electric range.

Coincidence or not, the new Renault 5 will also arrive with a 52 kWh battery pack, but according to the brand it is now capable of reaching up to 399 km of autonomy! This is important! The increase in autonomy should never be dependent on the size of the battery, but rather on the efficiency of the electric motor.

It’s funny… Updating Zoe to surpass new security standards is expensive!

The rules in the automotive world are increasingly strict and according to Renault’s head of performance, Bruno Vanel, it is very expensive to update the Zoe so that it is capable of complying with the European Union’s new GSR2 safety standards.

In short, with the need to make space on production lines, the high price of updating and the arrival of its new 100% electric Renault Megane E-tech, the Zoe has now reached the end of the line. With the company choosing to bring even more electric offerings to the market, including the Scenic crossover coming soon.
