Washing machines are really very useful. We put the clothes there and after an hour everything comes out as new, or at least clean. In fact, this is the purpose of the washing machine. Take care of your clothes without having to do a lot of work. But what if we told you that it only takes one thing to catch the washing machine on fire?

Did you know that this is enough to catch the washing machine on fire?

We all love the convenience of shooting the dirty laundry to the washing machine and let it work its magic. But did he know that there are some items of clothing that you should never put in the washing machine?

In fact, there is one thing that if you put in the washing machine it makes everything quite dangerous and even puts you at risk of fire. This is the case with clothes soiled with flammable liquids, such as gasoline or engine oil.

The reason you should never put clothes with flammable liquid stains directly into your washing machine is that they pose a serious fire risk. The convenience of machine washing isn’t worth the risk of a house fire.

Clothing soaked in flammable liquids is capable of combusting during agitation in a wash cycle. This applies even to items of clothing with small oil or gas stains.

If these clothes make it through a wash without incident, that doesn’t mean they’re in the clear. These clothes can leave flammable residue inside your washing machine that is transferred to the next load, prolonging the risk of fire.

Although it may go without saying, you should never place clothes stained with flammable liquids in the dryer. The risk of fire in this situation is even more serious than in your washing machine.

Keep your home safe. If you have clothes stained with flammable liquids, soak them in a bucket or sink with water and laundry detergent before putting them in the washing machine – or you can always wash them by hand.
